After trial and error, Paragon figured out his Strength power used about one-sixtieth of a point per second or one point per minute, and his Flight power used about two points per minute.

He flew over the city, following the rumbling ball that Goo Girl had turned herself into. He watched the rubbery green sphere smash through the streets like a bowling ball, and felt a surge of panic. People were going to get hurt like this.

He sailed down to grab a baby carriage and shove it out of the ball's path before continuing to follow. What also scared him is that Alley Cat had stopped struggling inside Goo Girl, but just flipped over and over. She had passed out and wouldn't last long. He needed to get her out of Goo Girl and stop this, fast.

He flew down and grabbed hold of Goo Girl. His fingers sank into her as he used his Strength power to pull her up into the air.

Heavenly Hawk came down to grab the other side of Goo Girl.

  "Higher!" he yelled.

She just nodded, knowing what he had in mind.

The two of them flew upwards, carrying Goo Girl over the city.

The villain formed a head on top of the ball to poke up and glare at him. "Nice try."

She changed her shape to become soft and slippery, sliding out of their hands. But he had thought of that, and had been hoping for it. Because she made herself soft, Alley Cat slid out of Goo Girl's body and fell through the sky.

Heavenly Hawk let go and plunged down to grab Alley Cat. Hawk held the catgirl by her shoulders, limp and dripping with slime, and began carrying her down to safety.

With Alley Cat safe, Paragon felt better about the next stage of his plan.

Instead of holding Goo Girl, he grabbed hold of the canvas bags of money that she held.

She changed back to human shape as she dangled from the bags. "Hey, let go!"

Paragon shook his head. "Sorry, Goo Girl. It's either you or the money."

He flew higher and higher, rising up to the clouds, and felt the temperature dropping with every few feet.

Goo Girl gasped as frost began to crystallize on her hardening skin. "Oh, no."

He yelled over the winds, "You wanna gimme the money? Or do I take you to jail as an ice cube?"

She smiled. "I get it. Either let go of the money or freeze solid. Cute. I underestimated you."

  She let go.

Paragon watched her fall through the sky for a few minutes before she broke up into dozens of green blobs. Those blobs broke into hundreds of smaller drops, and then broke up again until she had become a green mist that vanished.

  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

  +2,000 XP

He wasn't sure if she meant to disintegrate like that or if she had actually just turned into mist and died. The thought that she had just killed herself made him queasy. Could she break apart into such small pieces and put herself back together again? Could she break apart into small pieces and make each piece independent? He didn't know. He supposed he would find out. Either she would return or she wouldn't or he'd find hundreds of little Goo Girls all over the city. He didn't worry about it too much because she wasn't exactly his toughest enemy. More annoying and weird than deadly.

He hefted the money sacks while turning around to fly back down to Earth.

For a moment, he watched the city spread below him, marveling at the view. He never wanted to take his powers for granted. Only a few months ago, he had been a pizza delivery driver named Ryan Walker. Then he'd been recruited for an experiment to implant him with a radical new technology that unlocked hidden powers. Now he was Paragon, the defender of Eros City, and that felt pretty good.

He flew down and spotted Heavenly Hawk kneeling on the sidewalk by some apartment buildings. She held Alley Cat in her arms, and he landed next to them. Alley Cat looked wet with her hair matted together, and green stains on her costume. Her pointed ears had flattened on the top of her head.

"That was some nasty shit," she growled. "I can't even lick myself clean 'cause it's so gross."

Hawk smoothed back Cat's gooey hair with a hand. "I'm afraid you'll have to have a real bath. With water."

Cat let out a wail. "Ah, no, I hate water."

Paragon knelt beside her with a grin, remembering that she had been an actual cat before Professor Puma mutated her into a humanoid form.

Cat sniffed at her arm. "I got some in my mouth, too. Think it's toxic?"

Paragon licked his lips which had some of Goo Girl on them from her kiss. "I don't think so. I've swallowed some, and it didn't hurt me."

"Well, you needn't have swallowed it," Hawk sighed while wiping his face with her fingers.

Cat giggled. "That's what she said."

  Paragon laughed despite himself.

Heavenly Hawk folded her arms. "Well, you've both tasted her. Now I feel left out."

Cat giggled again. "I still got some on my face. Just gimme a kiss, you'll get some."

The two girls kissed, and lingered longer than they needed to. Heavenly Hawk ran her fingers over Alley Cat's neck, and Alley Cat stroked Heavenly Hawk's back before they came apart. Paragon's cock tingled from watching them.

Hawk smiled while licking her lips. "Is it my imagination or is there a slight minty flavor?"

"Yeah." Cat wiped her face. "She's like a big pile o' toothpaste. That robs banks. And got away."

Paragon shook his head. "I know, it sucks. But at least we got the money back. Come on. Let's take it back to the bank."

He helped Alley Cat to her feet, and she shook off her arms and legs before following.

  Chapter 3

THE BANK was only a block away so they decided to walk. As Heavenly Hawk, Alley Cat, and Paragon headed down the sidewalk, people stopped to take pictures, shake hands, or cheer.

A young girl ran up to Heavenly Hawk. "Can I take a selfie with you?"

"Of course, sweetheart." Hawk smiled into the phone that the girl held up, waited for the snap, and waved as she walked away.

Paragon shook the hand of an older man he passed while he said, "This is more like it. I remember the first time I walked around in my costume, people thought I was some kind of nutcase."

Alley Cat took his arm and leaned against him. "Yeah, and it's nice when people actually want me around instead o' tryin' to arrest or kill me."

When they reached the bank, they turned the corner to find a news van parked in front of it. The van's side said Eros City Chronicle, and he figured it was for the news channel that streamed on the Chronicle's website. A beautiful Asian woman wearing a pink pantsuit stood in front of the bank, talking to a microphone, and facing a cameraman.

"As you can see," the woman said, "the villain known as Goo Girl has broken out of the bank behind me, leaving terrible devastation, but fortunately, no one seems to have been killed or injured. She's gone, but we're getting reports that Heavenly Hawk, allegedly reformed supervillain Alley Cat, and Eros City's newest hero Paragon are fighting her as we speak."

Heavenly Hawk took Paragon's arm. "We should go."

He held up the bags of money. "We have to return these."

The woman spotted the three heroes walking up, and beckoned quickly to the cameraman to follow as she hurried over the shattered glass to them. She said, "And I see them coming back right now. Let's see if we can ask them a few questions."

  "No questions," Hawk whispered.

Paragon rested a hand on her waist. "What's wrong?"

Heavenly Hawk looked at the woman with wide eyes. "We can't trust this daft slapper."

Before he could respond, the woman thrust out a microphone at Paragon as she said, "Serra Chen, Eros City Chronicle. Were you able to capture Goo Girl?"

Paragon didn't understand why Heavenly Hawk seemed so afraid of the reporter, and usually trusted her judgment, but knew he needed to make friends with the press. He also wanted the chance to get the word out.

"Afraid not, Serra." Paragon held up the bags. "Got the money, though."

Some people gathered nearby started to cheer and c
lap while phones flashed. He waved to them.

Serra smiled. "Fantastic. I'm sure the bank will be happy about that. I wonder if you could talk a little bit about yourselves. It's been three months since you defeated the Fateful Five, but I see Alley Cat is still with you. Even fighting alongside you. Why is that?"

Alley Cat's upper lip curled as she snarled. "Because I kick ass, bitch."

Serra turned to the camera and made a slashing motion with her hand. "We'll cut that out. Three, two, one. So you're working with her, Paragon?"

Paragon reached out to take Alley Cat's hand. "Well, yeah, that's about it. She's a really good fighter. Couldn't do it without her."

Serra raised her eyebrows. "And do you trust her?"

  Alley Cat growled again.

Paragon squeezed her hand to silence her as he said to Serra, "Yes. Alley Cat has saved my life more times than I can count."

Serra tilted her head to the side. "And you think that makes up for all the destruction she's caused? The train derailment last year? The stand-off at Evergreen Elementary?"

Alley Cat wrapped her hands around her own neck. "I had a fucking bomb on my neck."

  "Not really an excuse."

Paragon squeezed her hand again, but didn't blame Cat for getting angry. "Look, she did a lot of things wrong, but she's trying to make up for them. She already pled guilty, served thirty days in jail, and was released on probation."

"Yes, a real slap on the wrist."

Heavenly Hawk glanced at Serra, but leaned towards the microphone. "Serra, I fought Alley Cat many times with the Trinity. I was more skeptical than anyone. But she's always been a reluctant accomplice of Professor Puma, and I can see the change after she removed the explosive collar. I trust her as well."

Serra swung the microphone over to her. "Speaking of the Trinity, are the three of you the new Trinity?"

Paragon shook his head. "There's no new Trinity. I'm not trying to replace them. Just help out. When Captain Alpha and the Night Watchman are back, the Trinity will be back, too."

"But it's been more than three months since Hawk's partners Captain Alpha and the Night Watchman were defeated by the Fateful Five. Captain Alpha remains in the hospital, still recovering from the poison. Hawk, have you heard from the Night Watchman?"

Heavenly Hawk lowered her head. "No. I still don't know where he is."

She looked into the camera. "We hope to see him again soon. Watchman, if you're watching this, call me."

Serra smiled. "But you seem to be doing well without him."

Paragon leaned closer. "No, we're not. We're just holding the fort until he gets back. But no one can replace him."

Serra continued without missing a beat. "And Heavenly Hawk, you seem to be working well with Paragon."

Hawk smiled. "He learns quickly. And he's been an incredible force for justice."

Serra raised one eyebrow. "But is there more to it than that? I'm sure you know your fans are asking why you and Paragon seem so close?"

Heavenly Hawk looked at Paragon and the question passed between them, unspoken but understood. They had talked about coming out with their relationship but weren't sure. Still, there didn't seem to be a reason to wait and this seemed like a good time.

Paragon just gave her a quick nod.

Heavenly Hawk smiled. "Yes, Paragon and I are dating."

Some people in the crowd began to cheer, and others booed. One large woman yelled out, "Whore!"

Serra pressed on. "I think we're all wondering, what about Captain Alpha?"

Heavenly Hawk clapped her hands together and took a deep breath. They had talked about this, too. "The truth is that Captain Alpha and I broke up months ago. We simply chose not to talk about it. But I care about him and still hope for a speedy recovery."

Serra looked at Alley Cat. "And some have speculated about your relationship with Alley Cat as well. Does that mean she's just a friend?"

Alley Cat waved her hand. "Nah, he fucks me, too, baby."

Some people gasped, others giggled, others grimaced. A few guys yelled out "yeah" and whistled. Paragon felt both embarrassed by her bluntness and proud of the fact that he was dating two women at once.

Serra turned to the camera and made the slashing motion again. "We'll cut that. Three, two, one. And there you have it. An exclusive interview with Paragon, Heavenly Hawk, and Alley Cat. And once again, I want to wish my partner Kent Clarkson a speedy recovery. I'm sure the viewers look forward to seeing you back on the air."

The cameraman lowered the camera as he said, "And we're clear."

Serra dropped the microphone to her side while giving Paragon a coy look. "Sorry if I was a little hard on you, but the audience has tough questions, and you three aren't exactly easy to get hold of."

Paragon shrugged. "You weren't as tough on us as the comments on Reddit."

Serra pulled a business card out of her jacket and held it out to Paragon. "You know, Eros City is curious about you. I can promise you a much more balanced and favorable interview if we can set something up."

He took the card, but shook his head. "Thanks, but I don't have much more I want to say. Secret identity and all that, you understand."

"Well, you're the biggest mystery right now, and I like mysteries. I'll find out your secrets, one way or another, Paragon." Serra smirked at Heavenly Hawk. "Ask her about Electric Devil."

She walked away with a swing in her hips, followed by the cameraman.

Paragon looked at Heavenly Hawk. "Electric Devil?"

Heavenly Hawk took his arm. "Come on. We'll need a stiff drink for that. And perhaps a bite to eat."

They handed over the bags of money to the bank's security guard, Paragon picked up Alley Cat, and they flew off over the city.

Paragon called out to Heavenly Hawk over the winds, "Where do you wanna go?"

Heavenly Hawk called back, "Let's just go to the Domino Mask."

Alley Cat threw up her hands. "Yay! We're gonna get drunk!"

Paragon shook his head. "Not quite. I don't have time for that, but we can get drinks. Let's change, though."

He had tried going out to eat as Paragon and the attention made it way too hectic. Right now, he just wanted to chill.

They flew back to Heavenly Hawk's seemingly normal warehouse which had a roof surrounded by potted plants and bushes. The plants hid the entrance where they landed, and climbed down into Hawk's superhero lair that she called it the Hawk's Nest.

Paragon and Heavenly Hawk touched the circular tattoos on their bodies, the site of the ATLAS injections which changed them into their normal forms. Paragon shrank until he turned back into Ryan Walker, and Heavenly Hawk flashed back into Heather Hawke.

They all traveled through a secret tunnel to the bookstore Heather owned, where they made their way through the aisles to climb a staircase to her apartment above it.

Alley Cat shook herself again as if trying to shake off the green slime on her body. "Hey, you got a shower or something around here, right?"

Heather pointed to her bathroom. "Help yourself, sweetheart."

Alley Cat peeled off her black leather costume as she crossed the floor until she stood naked under the showerhead. She didn't draw the curtain, and Ryan watched as she turned on the water to let it flow over her plump breasts and trickle down her back to her heart-shaped ass. The sight of the water dripping off her bare skin made him throb, and he grew harder as she worked up clouds of lather from a body wash to spread over herself.

As she ran her hands down her hips, she looked up at him. For a moment, he felt a little awkward at spying on her, but she just smiled and winked at him. "I'd feel better about the water if I had company. Wanna join me?"

He looked at Heather, because he still felt like she was his girlfriend first so he should get permission from her. She just smiled and waved a hand at him.

He didn't hold back his smile. "I could use a chance to wash this off."

Alley Cat bent a finger to beckon her. "And fuck me."
<
br />   His face burned with a blush but he also felt a twinge of excitement. "Yeah, I think I can handle that."

He unzipped his costume and let it fall around his chest, down his legs, and onto the floor. Alley Cat's eyes followed its path, lingering on his erection as it came into view. Her tail twitched against the wall of the shower, a sign of her excitement.

"Oh, I like the view," she said in a husky voice.

  He murmured, "So do I."

He climbed into the shower with her, and her arms reached out to circle his waist and pull him against her. She leaned closer until her breasts slithered over his bare flesh, smooth except for her hardening nipples. The warm flesh made his cock swell until it pulsed against her thigh.

The water made her dark hair stick against the top of her head, flat except for her ears that pricked up. She felt so sensual and warm, especially under the water that splashed over his face and hair as she glided against him. She had an amazing body, one that he loved seeing, feeling, and being inside of.

They kissed, and he tasted sweetness on her lips as he guided his tongue into her mouth and traced the flickering of her tongue. Her tongue circled his, embracing it as her arms encircled him and pressed him closer. Her lips vibrated as she moaned and her breath quickened against him. He wanted to explore her naked and wet body, and ran his hands over the curve of her back, down to the base of her spine, and slid down further down to stroke the cheeks of her ass.

She moaned again when he ran his fingers over her butt, and pulled away from his lips to whisper, "Mmm, that feels so good. You're so hot."

He smiled down at her. "Glad you think so."

She smiled up at him so wide that her fangs peeked out. "I know so."

He kissed her again as clouds of fragrant steam filled the shower with them, making sweat prickle his skin that washed away in the hot water. Her hands slipped down between their bodies to take hold of his hard cock and stroke it until it swelled to its full length. She kept kissing him, over and over while gliding her hand back and forth until he let her know how good it felt by groaning.

The whole time, she looked up at him with a more seductive smile. "Hope you can keep up with me, 'cause I like to fuck."
